BRAND VAN EGMOND is a Dutch lighting design brand and an international trendsetter in exclusive handcrafted decorative lighting.
The brand and studio were founded in 1989 with the sole intension to create art without restraints.
William Brand (owner/ designer) graduated at the Utrecht School of the Arts in the Netherlands, where he was trained as an architect. The first lighting sculpture "Chandelier" became an instant icon. The passion for lighting sculptures results in an impressive collection, with yearly additions of new designs. As all the Brand van Egmond lighting sculptures are handmade, they are frequently asked to customise for specific clients and projects across the world.

LOVE YOU - LOVE YOU NOT
Roses have been the symbol of love and passion for centuries. Spirituality and purity are also closely connected to this ‘queen of the flower world’. The poetic and theatrical feeling of a bouquet of roses has been captured in an unique series of lighting sculptures.
What has begun as a one of a kind sculptural installation has now been translated to the permanent collection of BRAND VAN EGMOND. If you take a close look at the LYLYN fixtures you will find smiley’s on the back of the fixture. There are two types of smiley’s. You have got the laughing one :) and you have got the down one:( As you may know, you can peal out the rose leafs and say out loud: He or She loves me, than you go to the next leaf, pull it out and call: she loves me. This process continues to the last leaf and then you know, if he or she loves you :) or not :( William got inspired when a friend was on his way to his wife to tell her he was sorry for a mistake made, and he offered her a bouquet of roses. Unfortunately I cannot tell you how the story ended, this is up to your own imagination.

Hollywood is a range of lighting sculptures inspired by shapes that one can find in nature. Travelling through Africa, William was gripped by the slender and pure beauty of branches and trees scattered across the land. In the wide open spaces, the natural fanciful lines of the branches turned the dead wood into holy wood. Back in Europe the image was translated into wrought iron in a sleek and nickel finish. Playfully adapting nature into an almost dramatic tangled web of emotions; holy wood turned into glamorous Hollywood.
